Platform Migration Questions
Will my search rankings be affected?
Properly mapped redirects protect most of your existing ranking signal during a migration. Some fluctuation in the days and weeks after cutover is normal as search engines re-crawl the new setup, and this cannot be fully guaranteed or eliminated — but it can be minimized with careful mapping and monitoring.
Do you need access to both the old and new platforms?
Yes. We need access to the existing platform to extract content and configuration, and access to the destination to build and configure it. Access is scoped narrowly to what the migration actually requires, and can be revoked once the project is complete.
What if something breaks during cutover?
A full backup of the original site is taken before the migration starts, so reverting to the previous setup is possible if something goes seriously wrong. This is a standard part of our process, not an add-on.
How long does a migration take?
A straightforward host move can take a few days; a full CMS platform migration with a lot of content or custom functionality takes longer. Timeline is confirmed once we can see the existing site during scoping.
